　　51.Directions:

　　Suppose you have to cancel your travel plan and will not be able to visit Professor Smith. Write him am email to

　　1) apologize and explain the situation, and

　　2) Suggest a future meeting.

　　You should write about 100 words neatly on the ANSWER SHEET.

　　Do not use your own name at the end of the email. Use “Li Ming”instead (10 points)

　　Dear Prof. Smith,

　　I am writing this letter in order to apologize to you for I have to cancel my travelling plan in your local city, and I will fail to visit you as I promised.

　　I really have kept our appointment in my mind all these days. However, when I was set out for the airport, I suddenly had a severe stomachache , so I have to go to the hospital to see a doctor. It’s unexpected and urgent and I must go. I am extremely sorry that I cannot keep my promise, but I wonder whether I could have another appointment with you on next weekend if you are available.

　　I am looking forward to your early reply. I apologize to you more than I can say. Please forgive me.

　　Yours sincerely,

　　Li Ming

　　尊敬的史密斯教授，

　　我写这份信的目的是向你道歉，因为我不得不取消去您那的旅行计划，而且我也不能如约拜访您了。

　　这几天我的确一直想着我们的约定。但是，尽早当我刚要出发去机场的时候，我突然犯了严重的胃病，所以我必须去医院看病。事发突然，又紧急，我必须去医院。我非常抱歉未能履约，但是我想知道如果您方便的话，我是否能和您约定下周末去拜访您
