缺乏长期的证据，
关于什么的证据?
Evidence 后面是定语,只不过这个定语是(to do +从句)
这也是动词不定式的一种：
动词不定式的搭配有三种：
1.to do
2.to do+名词
3.to do + 从句
to suggest that the near-universally accepted concept is true
表明一个几乎被普遍接受的概念是真实的
这个概念是什么?后面用同位语从句来解释：
economic growth is correlated with stock market performance
经济的增长和股市的表现是相关联的。
最关键的地方到了：
as is illustrated by the US data going back to 1960.
As的指代对象是：
there is scarce long-term evidence to suggest that the near-universally accepted concept is true.
= the near-universally accepted concept is hardly true.
当然从语法上讲也是可以指代：
economic growth is correlated with stock market performance
但是语义就说不通了;
因为如果后面的长期数据已经证明了这一点。
那开头的事实表述：缺乏长期的证据，就是不对的了。
这和我们之前讲的as前后观点不同是不一样的。
