　　据新华社报道，记者17日从退役军人事务部获悉，退役军人事务部、中央军委政治工作部近日联合印发《关于妥善做好新冠肺炎疫情防控牺牲人员烈士褒扬工作的通知》，要求各地各部门妥善做好因疫情防控牺牲人员烈士褒扬工作，符合烈士评定(批准)条件的人员，应评定(批准)为烈士。

　　China has announced a plan to honor medical workers and other personnel who died fighting the novel coronavirus epidemic as martyrs.

　　中国政府发布通知，要求对因疫情防控牺牲的医护工作者或其他人员评定为烈士。

　　According to a circular jointly issued by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission,the plan covers the deceased who had direct contact with suspected or confirmed cases and were infected with the virus when performing their duties including diagnosis,treatment,nursing,nosocomial infection control,specimen collection,pathogen detection and patient transfer,among others.

　　通知指出，在新冠肺炎疫情防控工作中，直接接触待排查病例或确诊病例，承担诊断、治疗、护理、医院感染控制、病例标本采集、病原检测以及执行转运新冠肺炎患者任务等的医务人员和防疫工作者因履行防控工作职责感染新冠肺炎以身殉职，符合烈士评定(批准)条件的，应评定(批准)为烈士。

　　Other people who sacrificed their lives could also be recognized as martyrs if certain criteria are met,according to the circular.

　　其他牺牲人员，符合烈士评定(批准)条件的，应评定(批准)为烈士

　　根据通知要求，参加疫情防控工作的地方人员根据《烈士褒扬条例》规定评定，各地统一组织赴湖北的医疗救援人员牺牲的，由派出人员单位所在地省级人民政府评定;参加疫情防控工作的军队人员和军队聘用的社会人员，由军队相关部门根据有关规定批准。

　　The circular also stressed comforting and compensating the families of martyrs.

　　通知还强调，要落实好抚恤优待政策，及时发放烈士褒扬金和抚恤金。

　　通知要求积极开展慰问、悬挂光荣牌等活动，妥善解决烈士遗属的实际困难。

　　A total of 1,716 Chinese medical workers had been infected with the novel coronavirus by Feb 11,accounting for 3.8 percent of the overall confirmed cases in China,according to the National Health Commission.Among them,six people had died from the virus,standing at 0.4 percent of the country's total deaths.

　　据国家卫健委介绍，截至2月11日24时，全国共报告医务人员确诊病例1716例，占到全国确诊病例的3.8%，其中有6人以身殉职，占全国死亡病例的0.4%。

　　The number of infected medics in Hubei province,hardest hit by the coronavirus outbreak,reached 1,502,or 87.5 percent of the national confirmed cases of medical staff,while the figure for the capital city of Wuhan was 1,102,or 73.4 percent of the infected medics in the province.

　　其中湖北省报告1502例医务人员确诊病例，占全国医务人员确诊病例的87.5%，武汉市报告了1102例，占湖北省医务人员确诊病例的73.4%。
