　　专有名词是相对于普通名词而言的，一般表示“独一 无二”的对象，即所指对象单一、固定。专有名词基本上包括人名、地名、节日名称、机构名称、报刊杂志、书名、电影名、商标名称等。正因为专有名词是固定、约定俗成的，所以在翻译专有名词时不能闭门造车，而应当借鉴前人的翻译成果，保证翻译的正确性，不至于出现张冠李戴的情况。专有名词的翻译面广、量大，各行各业的译员都会经常碰到。所以，各个高校在翻译科目上都会考察专有名词的翻译。
