　　一、现在分词短语作状语：

　　1.时间状语。

　　Buying fresh foods there are several things to consider. 当购买新鲜食品时，有几个事情要考虑。

　　2.条件状语。

　　Working hard, you will succeed. 如果努力工作，你将会成功。

　　3.伴随状语。

　　All night long he lay awake, thinking of the problem. 他整夜躺在床上睡不着，思考着那个问题。

　　4.方式状语。

　　Please answer the question using another way. 请用另一种方法回答问题。

　　5.原因状语。

　　Not knowing her address, I can't write to her. 由于不知道她的地址，我没法给她写信。

　　6.结果状语。

　　Possessing a car gives a much greater degree of mobility, enabling the driver to move around freely. 拥有汽车使机动程度更高，使司机能自由自在地往来各地。

　　7.让步状语。

　　Although working from morning till night Shakespeare didn't get enough food。

　　虽然莎士比亚从早到晚拼命工作，但是还是挣不够吃的。

　　二、过去分词短语作状语：

　　1. 时间状语

　　Told that his wife was ill, Li Lei went home hurriedly. 李磊得知妻子生病了时，匆忙赶回了家。

　　2. 原因状语

　　Satisfied with what he had done, the teacher praised him. 由于老师对他所做的事情很满意，于是表扬了他。

　　3. 条件状语

　　Compared with you, I still have a long way to go. 跟你比较起来，我还差得很远呢。

　　4. 让步状语

　　Explained a hundred times, the child still can't understand it. 即使给这个孩子解释一百篇，他还是不会明白。

　　5. 结果状语

　　The cup fell down to the ground, broken. 茶杯掉到了地上，破碎了。

　　Talking of math, he became excited. 谈到数学，他就兴奋起来了。

　　三、 不定式作状语时，往往是接在不及物动词的后面，修饰谓语动词;表示谓语动作发生的目的、 结果、原因、程度，等等。

　　1.目的状语

　　She came to see me yesterday. 她昨天来看我了。

　　You should study even harder in order to be a top student.

　　要当尖子学生，你应更加努力学习。

　　2.原因状语

　　I am sorry to hear that. 听到这事我很难过。

　　I were surprised to find that nobody was in the room. 我很惊奇的发现，房间里没人。

　　3.程度状语

　　She wouldn't be so silly to do that. 她不会那么傻去做那件事的。

　　四、介词短语作状语

　　1. 介词短语作地点状语

　　We live in Beijing. 我们住在北京。

　　2. 介词短语作时间状语

　　She got here at four. 她四点到这儿的。

　　3. 介词短语作方式状语

　　They came here by train. 他们乘火车来这儿。

　　4. 介词短语作原因状语

　　The game was postponed because of rain. 因为下雨运动会被推迟了。

　　5. 介词短语作条件状语

　　There will be no living things without water. 没有水就没有生物。

　　6. 介词短语作目的状语

　　He ran for shelter. 他跑去避雨。

　　7. 介词短语作让步状语

　　They play football in spite of the rain. 他们冒雨踢足球。

　　8. 介词短语作程度状语

　　To what extent would you trust them? 你对他们信任程度如何?
