　　背景：受到隔离措施的影响，美国的众多实体店铺都面临经营困难，独立书店们也不例外。美国书商联合会的Allison K Hill表示，”目前总体图书销量下跌严重，只有街边提书业务还在进行，但线上销售的增长十分显著。但线上销售并不营利，因为管理线上业务的成本很高，利润率却很低。许多独立书店的幸存都将依赖政府纾困资金和众筹项目。”今年1月份 “Bookshop LLC”应运而生，在这个平台上，书店直接与美国最大的图书批发商Ingram内容集团签约，一方面直接通过平台接受终端读者的订单，另一方面由Ingram利用其成熟的物流能力快速送到读者手里。目前已经有超过500家书店与此平台签约，总利润已达到83.3万美元。Bookshop的首席执行官Andy Hunter说：“人们普遍的看法是，如果你尝试挑战亚马逊，那么你的下场会很惨。但是有许多读者愿意支持本地企业，我们在递送时间和库存上是有竞争力的。”
