　　这篇文章写的是教育问题，题目是The “Project Hope”(希望工程，很可惜有个别的同学不知道这个短语是指希望工程)。提纲共分三点，可相应地写成三段：第一段是写当前的状况，首句已写出教育的重要性，下面应立即写当前不足之处，以突显实施此工程的追切性。第二段是写该工程的必要性，可分两点来写。第三段是写我的建议：这里我们可以写得很简洁，就用两句话——第一句写建议，第二句写这样做的意义。

　　【参考范文】The “project hope”

　　Education plays a very important role in the modernization of our country. The modernization of our country calls for the modernization of education in advance. However, the development of education is by no means balanced all over the country. In some poverty-stricken areas, a surprisingly large number of school-agars cannot afford to go to school. As a result, the “Project Hope” is initiated to promote education in those areas.

　　This project, in my eyes, is necessary especially in two respects. For one thing, if children can’t gain access to education, the lack of human resources will be inevitable, and how can we hope to get rid of illiteracy and poverty? For another, at present it is beyond the ability of our government to provide enough money for so many school dropouts. The “project hope” accepts donations from organizations, enterprises and individuals, and then distributes the fund scientifically and reasonably to those in need of help.

　　My suggestion is that all of us who have the financial ability join in the Project to help those school-agers. Only when all of us extend the helping hands can we hope to modernize our education and our nation.

　　【结构点评】

　　第一段采用总一分——总的结构，第一句说教育在国家的现代化中起着重要的作用，第二句是反过来说，使意思更为明确，起到了强调的作用——国家的现代化需要教育首先现代化。而后用however引用转折，说明教育发展并不均衡;在一些非常贫困的地区，许多孩子上不起学。最后一句呼应段首，说希望工程应运而生了。

　　第二段分两个方面来说希望工程的必要性。首先是说孩子上不起学，那么必然会带来人力资源的匮乏，那我们又怎么能消灭文盲和贫困呢?其次是说光靠政府是不够的，还需要各个组织、企业和个人的资助。

　　第三段我的建议只有一句，非常简洁，就是所有有经济能力的人都加入这个工程来帮助那些需要帮助的孩子们。后面一句说这样做的意义，只有所有人都伸出援助之手，我们才能期盼教育的现代化和国家的现代化。这里使用了一个动词加了两个宾语，巧妙地呼应了文章第一段的前两句。

　　第一段第二句中是call for和in advance分别表示“需要”和“事先”。第三句中的by no means表示“一点也不”。第四句中的poverty-stricken表示“贫穷的”。

　　第二段的首然使用了插入语，还有especially表示强调。以下分两点来说，第一点只有一句话，却包含了条件状语从句和反问句，逻辑清楚，语气强烈。句中gain access to education表示“获得受教育的机会”，inevitable表示“不可避免地”，illiteracy and poverty表示“文盲和贫困”。第二点包话两句话，第一句中的beyond the ability of表示“超过…的能力”，而dropout表示“退学学生”，来自动词词组drop out of school;其后的donation表示“资助”，distributes the fund scientifically and reasonably表示“科学地、合理地分配资金”。
